A superb specimen of a traditional, old male ceremonial Mosquito mask from Terebu Village on the borders of the Prince Alexander Range with the North coast. With a prominent, wide forehead and chin together with narrow slit eyes and sharply pointed nose it is a perfect traditional design.

A superb specimen of a traditional, old male ceremonial Mosquito mask from Terebu Village on the borders of the Prince Alexander Range with the North coast. With a prominent, wide forehead and chin together with narrow slit eyes and sharply pointed nose it is a perfect traditional design.
The patina is aged and smooth with traces of red betel nut stains and a dark natural colour throughout. Bush fiber hanging strands decorate the ears.
