Timor – A Traditional Comb Made From Fresh Water Turtle Shell

An attractive, original designed  traditional comb which is made from fresh water turtle shell. This comb interestingly, has a  semi squatting male figure, with his arms out stretched on the handle with two mythical, long necked birds either side with intricately carved patterns on the widest areas.

Collected in West Timor at a village market.
